The wedding season is going on in full swing, and an Indian wedding is the quintessential form of celebration. Weddings have never failed to excite me, and everything about wedding is a source of ecstasy for me – be it the couple’s gorgeous outfits, intricate mehendi, pretty décor, or the sumptuous buffet, just to name a few. Every day someone is getting married. Recently one of my best friends got married in a 2-day ceremony.
For this wedding, I decided to give it a shot by designing my outfits myself, and in 3 functions out of 4, I wore my self-designed outfits. Some key points to keep in mind while designing the outfits are your
- Personal style
- Body shape
- Personal color
If you try to recreate what someone has worn, you are taking a risk as it might not suit you.
For mehendi, a function which is always held during the day, I wanted something simple and of not so bright Continue reading
Being an Image Consultant (one who helps others become successful through Clothing, Grooming, Etiquette and Body Language) I often get messages from friends asking for what to wear or how to style a particular garment/ what color to wear / from where to shop etc. Recently I received a message from a friend asking for a similar kind of help. She sent me a photo of a floral top which she planned to wear with a denim and it is too mainstream. I asked her for the pictures of bottom garments she owns and out of 8-9 pictures she sent me I found one skirt with an abstract angular print. I asked her to wear the skirt with the floral top. She was very hesitant and also said that “people will laugh” without even trying. Finally I instilled some courage in her and she wore it. Next day I receive a call from her saying that how could I decide just by seeing the pictures that the skirt will look good. I just had one thing to say – I am an Image Consultant and I have learned the art and science of clothing.
I was very happy that people liked her outfit but what struck me here was that one sentence “People will laugh at me.” I realized that we have so many resources (Clothes) but we just don’t know how to utilize the resources correctly. So I decided to do this post which is about making an outfit out of 2 prints.
Mixing prints is often misunderstood as a tricky trend. There are a few tips and tricks through which one can pair the prints easily. There is no rocket science behind it.
Here I have combined a Batik print kurti with a Block print Continue reading

Recently while I was doing Wardrobe Evaluation (It is a process of revamping wardrobe) of my wardrobe, I found this maxi which was out of my sight for a long time. This maxi is very special to me, as I stitched it myself while learning stitching. I have it for more than a year, but I have worn it only once. I never thought of wearing it again. But this time I thought of styling this maxi and making it versatile even though the print looks little bold. Any garment can be dressed up and dressed down.
TIP: Maxi dresses come in infinite Continue reading
I recently came across a clothing brand QASICS. I was dazzled by their collection. I got their Pearl Essence Dress. The fabric of the dress is so good and crisp. It maintains the silhouette of the dress. It has a sheen to it which gives the dress rich look and creates smooth texture on it. The prints are placed beautifully on the dress. I created 2 looks out of one dress.
I decided to wear the dress with accessories, as they enhance the look. White is a wardrobe neutral. So it can be teamed up with all colors. Continue reading
